<< Back China is considering to remove 15% export tariff for wire rods and bars.

Recently, China Iron & Steel Association revealed that the discussion with China’s Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry & Information Technology is ongoing over removal of the 15% export tariff for wire rods and bars. The suggestion has got preliminary approval from government departments concerned. CISA is also suggesting Beijing to raise the export tax rebate rate for high value-added steel products aiming to enhance the overall quality of China’s steel exports. This indicates that China is likely to abolish export tax for rebar and wire rod– two major exports, though the timetable is not available so far. It is also possible for alloy steel products including boron-added commercial-grade products to enjoy higher export tax rebate in the future.
